You do need to have a good videoing skill before you start.

A very good way for you to get more people on your channel is to make a website/blog. PUT your videos on your website before you put it on youtube. If you do this you will get more people to your videos on Youtube. You will also get more people to your website/ blog which can also earn you money through ‘Google AdSense’.
Another good way to get people to your Youtube Channel is to comment on anything on the web! Before you submit your comment put a link to your website/blog or your Youtube channel.
